Including 10,000 shoes from across southeast Michigan and from around the world, the environmental installation, “Street Folk,” is a social commentary on the local and global problem of homelessness by artist Tyree Guyton Host: Amanda Sansoterra, The Heidelberg Project

Composer and improvisational musician A. Spencer Barefield presents “Super String Symphonica: Quantum, Quasar, Music and the Cosmos”, a series of original compositions for Chamber Jazz Ensemble featuring eight string players and percussion

“The Rube Goldberg Variations” kinetic sound and light installation by artists Frank Pahl

Premiering music from their upcoming album, Invincible and Waajeed present a live music production with Diana Nucera, Rick Robinson and Gayelynn McKinney, and special guests Monica Blaire and Finale. The performance will include a multimedia art installation by That’s That and video projection by el iqaa

Composer/musician Joel Peterson performs original chamber works followed by noted composer and leading experimental harpist, Zeena Parkins, in solo performance

Revisiting his early 1970’s awakening to the effects of the African drum in American jazz, Detroit trumpet master and Kresge Eminent Artist Marcus Belgrave performs in duet with master percussionist Isaac Okyerema Asante of Ghana, West Africa, blending Belgrave’s dynamic jazz horn with the pulse of African rhythms

Timmy Lampinen – Timmy’s Organism Timmy Lampinen’s band, Timmy’s Organism,  will perform “for the salvation of Detroit rock’n’roll.”  The 3-piece Timmy’s Organism can play experimental or “straight-up” music. DJ music closes out the night to 2pm.
